Getting
Started
We believe that straight teeth are important for better self-esteem
and overall general health. We are dedicated to provide the
best orthodontic care to those who desire the best for themselves.
We keep up with the newest techniques while keeping in mind
the patient's individual needs and goals. We desire to provide
for your orthodontic needs both thoroughly and efficiently.
Initial Exam
The
purpose of your first appointment is primarily to become
acquainted
with our staff and determine the nature of your orthodontic
needs. Dr. Pool will use this time to examine your teeth,
jaws and bite and decide if orthodontic treatment is necessary
at this time. This appointment requires approximately 45
minutes,
which is at no charge to you. TMJ exams are $95.00 to $150.00
and take about an hour. If treatment is indicated from this
exam,
the
next appointment scheduled will be the Diagnostic Records.
Records
Complete diagnostic records typically include plaster study
models, photographs of the face and teeth, and lateral head
x-rays. The information is used to determine the best method
of treatment for each patient. The charge for this appointment
is $175.00 ($275.00 for TMJ, Surgical or Set ups) and due
the day of the appointment. The results of this visit will
be discussed 2 weeks later at your consultation appointment
which will be at no additional charge.
Consultation
After Dr. Pool has evaluated your records, we will discuss
your treatment with you in detail at the consultation. Any
questions on cost, payment options, length of treatment and
other concerns you may have regarding treatment will be answered
at this time.
Appointments
Braces
or other appliances are placed at the initial banding appointment.
This appointment will usually be scheduled in the mid morning
and will take about 1-2 hours. After appliances are placed,
regular appointments will be scheduled every 6-10 weeks.
Most adjustment appointments will be 30-45 minutes long.
Our
regular
office hours are Mon. /Tues. 7:30am to 5:30pm. and Wed. /Thurs.
8:30am to 5:00pm. Patients are seen by appointment only.
We make every effort
to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the
same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment,
please
notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency.
It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments
are made 6 to 10 weeks in advance.
Cost of Treatment
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's
problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options
at the consultation before treatment begins. A credit report
will be run following the records appointment to determine
in-house financing options. We have several payment plans
to suit different budgets, including a no-down payment option.
For your convenience, we offer automatic bank drafts and accept
payments by Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We work hard to
make orthodontics affordable. Beth Potter, our Treatment Coordinator,
will discuss the various payment options available, as well
as the insurance process.
Insurance
We will attempt every way possible to assist you with
your insurance coverage. As a courtesy, we will file your
orthodontic claim with your insurance carrier; however, we
do not accept assignment/payment from any insurance carrier.
Insurance benefits will be mailed directly to you the policyholder.
If you have any questions concerning insurance, please call
the office and ask for Kelli Bagley, our Insurance Coordinator.
HouseCalls
HouseCalls is a sophisticated computer software program that
calls our patients to remind them of their appointments. HouseCalls
are made the day before your appointment. We hope this system
is a convenience to you.
Emergencies
As a courtesy to our patients, Dr. Pool and our team are
always available for concerns, questions or emergency treatment.
In case of an emergency, please call our office at 328-7049
or to speak to an assistant over the weekend
call 256-5620.
We will contact you as soon as possible.
