Initial Exam
The purpose of your first appointment is primarily to become acquainted with our staff and determine the nature of your orthodontic needs. Dr. Pool will use this time to examine your teeth, jaws and bite and decide if orthodontic treatment is necessary at this time. This appointment requires approximately 45 minutes, which is at no charge to you. TMJ exams are $95.00 to $150.00 and take about an hour. If treatment is indicated from this exam, the next appointment scheduled will be the Diagnostic Records.
Records
Complete diagnostic records typically include plaster study models, photographs of the face and teeth, and lateral head x-rays. The information is used to determine the best method of treatment for each patient. The charge for this appointment is $175.00 ($275.00 for TMJ, Surgical or Set ups) and due the day of the appointment. The results of this visit will be discussed 2 weeks later at your consultation appointment which will be at no additional charge.
Consultation
After Dr. Pool has evaluated your records, we will discuss your treatment with you in detail at the consultation. Any questions on cost, payment options, length of treatment and other concerns you may have regarding treatment will be answered at this time.
Appointments
Braces or other appliances are placed at the initial banding appointment. This appointment will usually be scheduled in the mid morning and will take about 1-2 hours. After appliances are placed, regular appointments will be scheduled every 6-10 weeks. Most adjustment appointments will be 30-45 minutes long. Our regular office hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30am to 5:30pm. Patients are seen by appointment only. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency. It is difficult to reschedule you since most appointments are made 6 to 10 weeks in advance.
